Training for Job Seekers
Michigan Works! Kent & Allegan Counties offer a wide variety of workshops and training programs to help job seekers improve their skills and increase their chances for finding employment. These classes, offered free of charge, cover a broad range of topics and are offered on a regular basis throughout the month to provide many opportunities for job seekers to attend. The classes are conducted at the Michigan Works! Kent & Allegan Counties Service Centers and cover topics such as:
- Job Searching Techniques
- Internet Job Searching
- Resume Writing and Letter Development
- Interviewing Skills
- Career Exploration
- Basic Computer Training
- GED Assistance
- English as a second language
Individual Training Accounts are available to accelerate the transition of workers into good-paying jobs by providing free tuition at community colleges, universities and other approved training providers. More information >
